Hi, I’m dominique shorter-taylor

Dominique Shorter- Taylor is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), CEO of Shorter-Taylor Behavior Consulting and co-founder of Beyond ABA, LLC. She completed her Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dominique received her master’s degree in clinical psychology here in Chicago and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from South Carolina State University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Dominique has been working with adults and children with Autism and other special needs for 10 years. She is also the proud and diligent mother of a 11-year-old boy with Autism. While working in the field of behavior analysis and navigating systems with her own child, she and her business partner and college friend determined a need for accessible services specially in communities that are traditionally underrepresented and underserved in the field of ABA. Beyond ABA has made it their mission to disseminate the benefits and provide skilled ABA-based therapy to ALL in need..

Dominique has been a keynote speaker at Women in Behavior Analyst (WIBA) conference two years in a row in the areas of diversity and inclusion. She was invited to help pilot the diversity and inclusion grant program in the field of Experimental Behavior Analysis at Utah State University which provides grants for students of color to further their education in ABA. She provides internships to ABA and psychology students. She has been interviewed on the AC Green show 106.3, The Talk of Chicago 1690 WVON, Gospel Radio 1390, and CAN TV sharing the benefits of applied behavior analysis not only to individuals with Autism, but to our entire community to enhance their quality of life.

 

Areas of Expertise

Dominique specializes in working with individuals with dual diagnosis, staff and parent education, public speaking events, programing for generalization to natural settings, working with adults with intellectual disabilities in residential and day program settings, working with young adults on community integration and independent skills, working with children and teachers in a school setting, formulating, and implementing individualized behavior programs.
